Dawn Wilson founded Nature’s Way Farms® in sunny South Florida in 1980. Asked to help take care of her father’s tree farm, Dawn put her career as an educator on hold and took up where her dad had left off. In addition to managing the tree farm, Dawn expanded her business into the landscaping industry. After several successful landscape jobs, it became apparent that it would be beneficial to grow the plants commonly used in her landscape projects. After demand exceeded supply, Dawn decided to go all in and invest in producing more tropical plants. The stars had aligned. Dawn was well on her way to building the foundation of her company.
In a span of forty years, Nature’s Way Farms has evolved from an acre plot into a 260 acres farm, with an additional 30 acres added in 2020. Nature’s Way Farms grows classic tropical beauties such as Hibiscus, Crotons, Mandevillas, Birds of Paradise, and Gardenias. Not limiting itself to the classics, Nature’s Way also grows a stunning collection of houseplants in their Perfect Green Home Collection, a proven group of patio décor plants in their Patio Perfect Collection, and a unique collection of sought after varieties such as the farm’s signature Ixora and striking Desert Rose. Dawn’s pursuit of excellence has garnered the company the Lowe’s Home Improvement 2016 “Lawn & Garden Innovation Partner of the Year Award” and The Home Depot’s 2018 & 2019 “Supplier Partner of the Year Award for the Southeast Region for Live Goods”. Nature’s Way is constantly looking for new plants to grow year-round and innovative ways to offer these plants to customers.
Dawn has built Nature’s Way Farms incrementally, ensuring that each product and each relationship was established on solid ground. Hard work, grit, and a keen understanding of business relationships have earned Nature’s Way Farms the trust and confidence of growers and retailers alike. The leadership of the company works hand in hand with employees to create a professional and fair partnership that is the cornerstone of Nature’s Way ethos.
Not only is Nature’s Way Farms a thriving tropical plant grower in South Florida, but it also has an onsite animal foster operation working with other rescuers, rescuing puppies and injured cats. Puppies and cats are cared for and eventually adopted, but not without first being doted on by team members. Nature’s Way is not only a company dedicated to delivering quality plants but is also a company with heart.
