Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant provides essential administrative support to the HR department. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, attentive to detail, and passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture. The HR Assistant will play a key role in ensuring smooth HR operations by handling employee inquiries, maintaining records, and supporting HR processes, systems, and policies.
Job Duties:
- Monitor employee time and attendance, maintaining accurate records of accrued time off.
- Support HR programs and procedures for all employees.
- Respond to routine HR questions.
- Handle confidential documents with discretion.
- Maintain and update HRIS records and generate reports as needed.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HR standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare and organize onboarding materials for new hires and casual labor employees.
- Conduct or assist with new hire orientations.
- Ensure completion and proper filing of new hire documentation.
- Support HR audits and maintain organized personnel files.
- Foster positive relationships with employees and supervisors.
- Communicate employee concerns to HR leadership.
- Provide support for HR training programs and initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
- 1-2 years of HR experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required (Creole is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
