This petite beauty grows best in areas that get mostly sun but some shade during the intense summer heat. Tibouchina is prized for its intensely colored flowers and textured foliage. This evergreen shrub a perfect accent plant, border plant, or container plant for the landscape. Enjoy these striking flowers from spring all the way through the fall. This plant can tolerate a good amount of shade; however, too much shade will prevent it from flowering abundantly.
Tibouchina tolerates most soil types. Water the plant daily when planted until it becomes established. After the plant is established, it will need consistent watering to keep the plant robust and flowering. Fertilize the glory bush three times a year with a well-balanced fertilizer. If the plant does not flower abundantly, fertilize with a liquid fertilizer for flowering plants in between regular fertilization.
Note: These plants are grown for decorative purposes and are not intended for human or animal consumption
