Natures Way

Italian Cypress

CUPRESSUS SEMPERVIRENS

Italian cypress is a perfect plant to use for lining a driveway or for planting along a fence.  Tall and statuesque, these plants give a Mediterranean feel to any garden design.  These fast growers can get up to 70 feet tall. Given the height of the plant, plant them away from power lines or other obstructions. Italian cypress is an evergreen preserving its deep green color throughout the year.   The svelt look of the Italian cypress can be paired with ball or cone forms of the eugenia to create a formal garden in southern climes.

Plant the Italian cypress in well-drained soil.  When planting in the landscape, dig a hole about three times as wide and approximately as deep as the rootball.  Water the plant until established and then as needed, especially in the hot summer months. This low-maintenance plant fares well in zones 8-10 and does not need pruning.  Fertilize three times a year with an all-purpose fertilizer.

Note: These plants are grown for decorative purposes and are not intended for human or animal consumption
