Fountain Grass

Ornamental grasses add a delicate informal look to gardens. Enjoy the graceful movement of ornamental grasses in mass plantings, open areas, or in front of foundation plants.  They look great in containers on the front porch or around the pool.  Fountain grasses produce feathery stalks that add even more interest to the landscape.  Pennisetum is available in several different colors, including green, red, and cream.

This easy-care plant enjoys full sun and well-drained soil.  Once established, it will take care of itself.  Aside from a crew cut in the fall after it flowers, there is not much more care this plant requires.  When plants grow for a couple of years, divide it to populate other areas of the garden or give away to friends.
