The ZZ plant is the perfect plant to grow in areas where there is not much bright light. This easy-care plant has long stems that come out of bulbous rhizomes. These long stems produce beautiful dark green, shiny leaves. If the plant is in a good spot, it can grow to about 4 feet tall. When the branches get tall, they will tend to arch, causing a weeping look. The graceful arching branches are very hardy. Trim them only if they get in the way, otherwise, let the plant do its thing, and you will not be disappointed.
ZZ Plants require water when the soil is almost dry, water the soil until it is moist. Do not overwater the plant since it does not like to have wet feet. This robust plant will not easily succumb to much; however, soaked soil will kill a ZZ in no time. Feed monthly with a fertilizer formulated for houseplants. When the winter arrives, water the plant less since it will not be in an active growing period.
